With 10 games of the season left to play, Arsenal sit top of the Premier League with an eight-point lead.
Granted, Manchester City do have a game in hand on the Gunners and the duo must face off once more before the end of the campaign.
However, it looks very likely that Arsenal will be lifting their first league title since all the way back in 2004. Arsenal are also still able to surpass their highest points total in a PL campaign, which was 90 in 03/04.
A key reason for this is because Mikel Arteta was afforded time and a chance to build his own squad.
The Spaniard won the FA Cup in his first season with the club but back-to-back 8th-place finishes cast some doubt over his ability to get Arsenal back to the top.
But Arteta was given time and it has certainly paid off. And now, former Gunner Aaron Ramsey has been discussing why he always knew that Mikel Arteta would succeed at Arsenal:
“You could see his leadership qualities and the way that he handled himself was second to none,” Ramsey said.
“What he is doing now, definitely, you could see he was always going to be a manager one day, the way he thought and saw the game and how intense he was as well.
“It is absolutely unbelievable what he has done there, what they are doing at the moment.”
Arsenal’s next outing is a home clash vs Leeds United on Saturday, April 1.
