Novels to also get anime adaptation
The November issue of Kadokawa‘s Young Ace magazine revealed on Monday that Miri Mikawa and aki‘s Sugar Apple Fairy Tale light novel series will get a manga adaptation. The adaptation will launch in the magazine’s December issue on November 4. Yozora no Udon is drawing the manga.
The fantasy novels are set in the Kingdom of Highland, where fairies serve humans, and center on a girl named Anne. Anne’s mother recently passed away, so Anne decides to carry on the family trade and become a Silver Sugar Master, a special artisan who can create magical candy. With her foul-mouthed fairy bodyguard Charles, she sets out on a journey to the capital.
Writer Mikawa and artist aki launched the novels in April 2010, and ended the series in the 17th volume in February 2015. Alto Yukimura published a two-volume manga adaptation of the novels on Hakusensha‘s Hana to Yume Online website from 2013 to 2014.
The novels are also inspiring an anime adaptation.
J-Novel Club is also releasing Mikawa’s Culinary Chronicles of the Court Flower (Ikka Kōkyū Ryōrichō) light novels in English.
