At the same time, I am also sorry for the 2004 vintage that we cannot finish it together. Great challenges await us. First and foremost the Men’s 20 EHF Championship 2022, through which we can still qualify for the World Cup. The boys will be able to show what they’re made of next year, ”explains Michael Draca when he took office. Luka Marinovic is at his side as an assistant coach.
Lukas Musalek is taking over the position of head coach from Michael Draca for the 2004 class. The 37-year-old has been assistant coach for the 1994, 2000 and 2004 classes for the ÖHB for many years active in the youth sector. Now Lukas Musalek is taking over the post of head coach of a youth national team for the first time and is supported by Peter Wallner as an assistant coach.
Lukas Musalek: “I’m very happy to this challenge, knows that the Men’s 18 EHF Championship 2022 is a difficult task ahead of us. There is a lot of work waiting for us, we want to get back into the top 16 in Europe as soon as possible. I know the team well, I know how well they worked. It is a very talented year who were only able to play twelve internationals due to Corona. I am very confident that, together with the other coaching teams, we will manage the upcoming tasks well.
The appointment of Sandra Zapletal as head coach of the youth national team born in 2006 was announced last week given. With her, Lukas Musalek (2004) and Michael Draca (2002), an even closer coordination between the individual teams should take place in order to ensure the best possible care for the young Austrian talents.
