Hoping to find a route back into the automatic promotion spots in midweek, Blackburn will make the trip to a struggling Hull on Wednesday night.
Starting with the hosts, while Hull might have put in an impressive display against Premier League outfit Everton earlier in the month, it does not cover what has been a worrying rut. Eventually suffering a 3-2 defeat against the Blues and crashing out of the FA Cup, Grant McCann’s men have lost each of their last four matchups across all formats. Last seen over the weekend getting hit with a 2-0 loss against Stoke on home soil, the Tigers find themselves firmly at the heart of a relegation scrap. Without a win to their name since November 27th, the former Peterborough boss has seen his side gain a reputation for their issues at the back. Holding a woeful record against Wednesday’s guests and losing each of their last five meetings against Blackburn, Hull should be in for another tough test here.
As for the visitors, while Hull might find themselves battling it out at the foot of the table, the same cannot be said for a high-flying Blackburn. Despite seeing their own FA Cup run come to an end away at Wigan earlier in the month, Tony Mowbray’s men have their sights firmly set on securing a Premier League return this season.
