India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage crosses 92 cr mark: Govt

The cumulative Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the country crossed 92 crore on Tuesday, the Union Health Ministry said.

Over 54 lakh vaccine doses have been administered on Tuesday till 7 pm and the tally is expected to increase with the compilation of the final reports by late in the night, it said.

Moody’s revises India’s rating outlook from negative to stable

Ratings agency Moody’s on Tuesday upgraded its outlook on India to stable from negative, citing a pick-up in the country’s economic recovery.

“An economic recovery is underway with activity picking up and broadening across sectors,” the ratings agency added, reports Reuters.

Kerala recorded as many as 9,735 fresh Covid-19 cases, 151 deaths on Tuesday.

A total of 93,202 samples were tested during the same time and the test positivity rate was 11.82 per cent.

42.4 per cent of the state population have received both doses of covid vaccine.

India slams Pakistan for raising Kashmir issue at UN, calls it world’s biggest destabilising force

Counsellor in India’s Permanent Mission to the UN, A Amarnath, said that India does not need advice from a nation with a proven track record of illicit export of nuclear material and technology.

“Pakistan’s desperate attempts to peddle falsehoods and habit of abusing the sanctity of multilateral forums deserves our collective contempt. Pakistan has made a number of futile and unsubstantiated allegations against India, including in relation to the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. These do not merit a response, as they pertain to matters internal to India,” Amarnath said.

Deeply concerned over proliferation of weapons of mass destruction: India at UN

India has expressed deep concern over the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems that could endanger peace and security, saying the possibility of terrorists acquiring such weapons necessitates the global community to work together to address this grave danger.

“We are deeply concerned about the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems, which endangers international peace and security. The possibility of terrorists acquiring weapons of mass destruction necessitates Member States to work together to address this grave danger,” Ambassador Pankaj Sharma, Permanent Representative of India to the Conference on Disarmament (CD), Geneva, said at the General Debate of the First Committee of the 76th Session of the UN General Assembly.
