FLIGHT OF DREAMS is a commercial facility that displays the actual Boeing 787 aircraft, and you can enjoy shopping and dining while looking at the exhibited aircraft. We will develop two areas, an “exhibition area” where you can study aviation and airports, and a “kids area” for children, aiming to utilize it as a local child-rearing and learning facility.
As before, the first 787-8 flight test “ZA001” (registration code N787BA) will be installed in the reopening flight park. Exhibition. The exhibition area is classified into the “airplane area” and the “airport area” where the work related to Chubu Airport and aviation is introduced by panels and videos.
In the airplane area, we will introduce the history and technology of the development of the 787 with panels and videos, as well as from the companies that manufacture the 787. We will exhibit sponsored products such as material samples. In addition, we have created a new space where you can observe the engine up close so that you will be interested in the aviation industry in the future.
In the kids area, a paid “large net playset”, a free Tarzan rope, a circuit, etc. will be newly established. The large net playset installed right next to the 787 has a cloud motif, and a two-layer trampoline 1.5 meters and 6 meters above the ground and a slider with a height of 5 meters will be installed. The target age is children from 3 to 12 years old, and it can be used for 300 yen at a time. A one-day ticket is also available and sold for 500 yen.
The Flight Park is open all year round from 10am to 5pm. The “Boeing Store,” which sells official Boeing goods, and the paid 787 simulator operated by LUXURY FLIGHT will continue to be available after the renewal.
FLIGHT OF DREAMS, which opened on October 12, 2018, is an international exhibition in Aichi Prefecture, which opened on August 30, 2019. It is located between the venue and Terminal 2 (T2) dedicated to LCC, which started operation on September 20, the same year. Centered around the first flight test of the 787-8, in the paid exhibition area “Flight Park” that provides hands-on content, and the free commercial area “Seattle Terrace” where stores such as restaurants and merchandise are located. Mayor Ito of Tokoname City said, “It has become an attractive facility for the child-rearing generation.” Boeing Japan Director Henderson mentioned that Japan has the largest number of 787s in the world, and that 35% of the structural parts of the aircraft are manufactured by Japanese companies and transported from Chubu Airport to factories in the United States. After the reopening, President Inuzuka and three others welcomed many guests, including families and elderly couples. Chubu Airport off the coast of Tokoname City can be accessed by car or train from the Chita Peninsula. The airport island and the Chita Peninsula are connected by a toll airport connecting road, etc., and you cannot enter on foot, and there is a charge for either method. In this renewal, the admission fee for FLIGHT OF DREAMS will be free to “lower the hurdle” (Central Japan International Airport Company), increase the number of passengers, and aim for “daily use” at the airport.
