You can rightly claim that every sneakerhead in Europe knows and loves the Italian store Slam Jam from Milan. The sneaker powerhouse first opened its doors in 1989 in order to supply the burgeoning underground in Italy long before any hype and resell madness. Over the years, the store has worked with pretty much every major brand in sportswear. The list is long: Nike , Asics, New Balance, Adidas , Diadora and of course Converse. Together with the All Stars from Boston, Massachusetts, Slam Jam have worked together 12 times. At the Sneaker Slam Jam founder Luca Benini was inspired by the 80s. Above all, his deep interest in American rock bands from this era can be recognized in several places on the sneaker. The latest collaboration between Converse and Slam Jam uses the Chuck 70 silhouette as a tribute to the unique artists of that time.
Frayed elements on the collar of the shoes pay homage to the ripped jeans of bands like Mötley Crüe or Guns’n’Roses, while the store’s logo is an upside-down “ A ”, reminiscent of a sign of anarchy.
