Coronavirus in Bulgaria: Over 400 per 100,000 people is the incidence for the last 14 days

The number of new cases of coronavirus increased as an absolute number but decreased as a percentage. 2485 are the newly discovered cases for October 8, and they increase by 183 on a daily basis, after the cases opened on Thursday were 2302. 21 775 tests were performed (PCR and antigenic), ie. by 2967 more than the reported 18,808 days earlier. For comparison, in the previous report there were 13,599 antigen tests, of which 1158 were positive, ie. 8.51%. The PCR tests are 7105, and the positive ones are 1273, ie. 17.91 percent. On Thursday, this type of tests were 5209, with positive of them – 1144, ie. 21.96 percent.

Total confirmed cases of coronavirus There are already 518,995 in Bulgaria. 2,622,102 PCRs and 2,328,487 antigen tests have been performed (a total of 4,950,589), with the average percentage of positive samples since the beginning of the pandemic being 10.48 percent, an increase of 0.01%. daily basis.

(Active cases are increasing and are now 49 828, which is 476 more than in the previous report. There is also an increase in hospitals, with the number of people there being 5,453, which is 79 more (639 were admitted to hospital, 560 were discharged). There are 462 patients admitted to intensive care units – 1 less on a daily basis. 1928 people have recovered and the total number is now 447 581. 81 people have died – 13 less on a daily basis, so the total number of those who lost the battle with the virus in Bulgaria is now 21 586.

The Ministry of Health is already presenting data and what proportion of the infected, hospitalized and deceased are not have been fully vaccinated. During the last 24 hours, 86.2 percent of those who tested positive were not immunized. 88.73 of those admitted to hospital were also unvaccinated. Among those who died for the day, 95.06 percent do not have vaccinations.

The single information portal also provides data on the doses of vaccines administered. They are a total of 2,585,160, which means that 20.68% of the country’s population has already received a single dose. People with completed immunization are 1,359,501 or 19.68 percent of the population, and they include 203 061 vaccines of “Jansen”, which is administered in a single dose. For the last 24 hours, there have been 7210 vaccines given. 4005 are the first dose, 6005 are the second dose – the difference comes from the fact that those who received the preparation of “Jansen” are added in both columns, as the vaccine is a single dose. 4423 people also received a booster dose, most of them – 1315 are in the capital.

Most cases were found again in Sofia – 589, followed by Varna with 231 and Plovdiv with 220. There is no district without new cases, and the least are in Kardzhali – 9.
