Court releases suspect in torture and murder of Isolation prisoners until February

The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv has remanded in custody a suspect in the torture and murder of prisoners in the illegal Isolation Prison, Denis Kulikovsky. This is stated in the decision of the court of December 31, 2021.

Although the name of the suspect is not specified in the decision, the circumstances of the case point to Kulikovsky. According to the text, the court thus granted the request of the senior investigator of the Security Service of Ukraine Okhrimenko.

«Validity of the decision to detain the suspect PERSON_1 , INFORMATION_1, to be detained for 36 (thirty six) days, ie until February 2, 2022, inclusive », – it is said in the court decision.

The precautionary measure does not provide for bail.

The Security Service of Ukraine on November 9 confirmed the detention of a militant of the illegal armed group “DPR”, who headed the illegal prison “Isolation (In occupied Donetsk.

Earlier in the day, Stanislav Aseyev , a writer, journalist and former prisoner of the DNR group, reported , who detained a suspect in Kyiv for involvement in war crimes in “Isolation” Denis Kulikovsky, known as “Palych” . The court took him into custody on November 10.

The premises of the former Isolation plant were seized Russian-controlled groups in 2014. Later, from the words of prisoners and hostages returning for exchanges, it became known that there was a prison in “Isolation”. There are dozens of testimonies of torture there. In Ukraine, the Office of the Prosecutor General is conducting criminal cases regarding the events in this place.
