From October 4, 2021, students in primary schools located in the departments least affected by the epidemic will be able to remove their masks. The practice of physical and sports activities will be unrestricted. It is therefore level 1 (green) of the health protocol in schools that will apply in these departments.
Which departments are concerned?
“From Monday, October 4, in the departments where the incidence rate stabilizes below the threshold of 50 per 100,000 inhabitants , the health protocol will be upgraded to level 1, which essentially means that the obligation to wear a mask in primary school will be lifted. ” If we rely on the incidence rate in the sliding week on September 25, 55 departments could abandon the wearing of the compulsory mask in primary . These areas are characterized by both an incidence rate of less than 50 and a circulation of the virus of little concern, as specified by our colleagues from BFMTV . Conversely, 29 departments should not be affected by the measure because the incidence rate is still too high. The decision is however uncertain for 17 departments, their incidence rate being close to the famous threshold of 50. We take stock.

What about teachers?
“At this stage, this point has not been stopped,” replied Jean-Michel Blanquer. “It is rather my wish”, he continued, indicating that “discussions with the health authorities” are underway. “We will announce the final decision on Thursday,” said Jean-Michel Blanquer.
