In an attempt to calm the discontent of teachers because of the school’s health protocol against Covid, Prime Minister Jean Castex, guest of France 2 this Monday, January 10, announced new measures to simplify the constraints weighing on students and their parents.
The school health protocol will be simplified:
– if a positive case is detected in a class, the students can stay there until the end of the day
– 3 self-tests negative will suffice for contact cases
– only one parental certificate will be necessary. pic.twitter.com/58zh8BWw3k– Jean Castex (@JeanCASTEX) January 10, 2022
Because behind strict measures, the objective displayed by the government is clear, and Jean Castex once again reminded us this Monday evening: “to leave the schools open as much as possible”. Here are the three relaxations announced by Jean Castex concerning the health protocol at school.
Possibility of waiting for the exit if the child is sick contact
“When a positive case is found in a class, we ask all the children to be tested. From now on, we will wait for the release of the establishment school , we will not call the parents immediately, “said Jean Castex.
Three free self-tests
“Today, the child in contact must undergo three tests, including a PCR or an antigen. I have asked the scientific and health authorities to be able to use three self-tests, which will have an effect on the queues in front of pharmacies. The self-test is less invasive than the others. ” And the minister added that these three self-tests will be completely free for them. Matignon, interviewed by France Télévisions, confirmed that if a student is positive in a class, a contact case certificate will be issued to parents, thus allowing them to have access to these three free self-tests in pharmacies. Regarding saliva tests, the Prime Minister on the other hand ruled out, considering that they were more of a prevention tool.
A certificate instead of three
“This time, we will only ask only a test certificate, once and for all instead of three . ” “This week, 11 million self-tests will be delivered to pharmacies” also indicated the Prime Minister.
