At least 50 people were killed and 140 others were injured in an explosion targeting a Shiite mosque in the northeastern Afghan city of Kunduz today, Friday, according to medical sources told AFP.
A doctor at Kunduz Central Hospital told AFP, “So far, we have received 35 bodies and more than 50 wounded.” Earlier, a local official with Doctors Without Borders told the agency that “more than 90 wounded and more than 15 bodies” were taken to the NGO clinic in Kunduz. The explosion occurred this afternoon, Friday, during Friday prayers, according to a Taliban spokesman and witnesses. Today, Friday, which led to several deaths.
