EastEnders spoilers: Gray Atkins admits to killing Kush Kazemi as he’s finally caught

Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) delivered one final crushing blow in EastEnders before he was taken away by the police, as he admitted to murdering Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami).

The sadistic killer found himself with nowhere to hide, after he was accused of killing Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White).

But it was Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) who well and truly sealed his fate, after she dialled 999 on her mobile mere moments before he confessed to murdering wife Chantelle (Jessica Plummer).

With the authorities closing in, Gray made a run for it, but not before he headed to the Taylor’s residence to retrieve baby Jordan, Mack and Mia.

Little did he know, however, that Karen (Lorraine Stanley) had reason to believe he’d killed Chantelle, after Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) told her all about their daughter’s posts on an online forum.

Gray, cornered, admitted to murdering Chantelle, which left Karen distraught. But with the grieving mum refusing to let him get his hands on Mack, Mia or Jordan, Gray decided to leave his kids behind.

After finding himself in the Queen Vic, he attacked Shirley Carter (Linda Henry), before making yet another run for it. This time, however, Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) spotted him.

Gray, knowing he’d been caught, made his way onto the rooftops of Albert Square, but with nowhere left to run, he contemplated jumping to his death.

Whitney refused to let him evade justice again, and thus held on to him for dear life – endangering her own in the process. Gray, however, had another sick trick up his sleeve, as he admitted to murdering Kush in a bid to make Whitney let go.

‘Consider it payback’, he exclaimed. ‘For Kush!’.

Whitney, as fans know, believed her fiancé’s death to have been a tragic accident, so it’s no wonder that she was rendered speechless by Gray’s confession.

But despite her desire for revenge, she held onto Gray long enough for Mitch to come to her aid, and the killer was subsequently carted off by the police.

Will he finally pay for his sins?

Kush was killed by Gray almost a year ago in scenes which fans branded ‘sickening’, as the beloved market stall trader was thrown onto a Tube station track and crushed by an oncoming train.
