At the end of April this year, a quad bike, run by a 46-year-old man, passed through the village of Ostrovany in the Sabinov district. He didn’t overtake anyone, no one went against him, and so seemingly pointlessly crossed into the opposite lane. Four boys were walking on the sidewalk – from the driver’s point of view to the left of the road.
You can see all this in the video from the municipal camera Then the camera automatically turned in a different direction, so it did not capture the moment when the ATV hit one of the boys.
In the next shot, you can already see 13-year-old David lying motionless on the road, his friends are moving around in confusion, the ATV was gone. The driver did not provide the boy with first aid, nor did he call rescuers or police officers. He escaped from the scene of the accident.
David had an injured head and a broken leg. About seven minutes later, the driver of the ATV returned and asked the people around the injured boy what had happened. He claimed that another man was riding a quad bike in front of him… The police arrived a moment later. They immediately asked the mayor for a camera recording, which showed who caused the accident.

The parents of the betrayed boy, the mayor and no one from the village still know who the driver of the quad bike is. They don’t know his name or his face, because he wore a helmet all the time, even after the police arrived. They have no idea who was sitting on the ATV, despite the fact that the driver has already been charged by the investigator for injury and failure to provide assistance.
