BELGRADE – The multimedia exhibition “ULUS New Members 2022” was opened last night in the Art Pavilion “Cvijeta Zuzorić” on Mali Kalemegdan, and at the same time the ceremonial awarding of the Certificate of Admission to ULUS was realized. for 2020 and 2021.
These certificates for new artists were verified at the Assembly of the Association, on December 29, 2021.
President of the Board of ULUS Marija Kauzlarić welcomed the new members.
“No association exists without its members, and its future depends on new artists. You do ULUS together with all of us. We need to try to make ULUS better. Our and your Association is a tool and mechanism by which we should fight for our rights, our practices and our art, “said Kauzlarić.
For membership in ULUS in 2022 A total of 60 artists were selected, 5 of whom were “by invitation”, while this year, as was the case in 2021, there are no “honorary members” of the Association.
34 artists were admitted to the Painting Section and exhibitors on display, the Extended Media Section has 21 members, while the Graphic Section consists of 3 and the Sculpture Section 2 members.
Due to bad weather, only a small number of new members came to personally receive the application form. and a special guide – a manual detailing membership rights and how to exercise them, sections, services, working groups, acquiring the status of independent artist, Bodies and Bodies…
Works at the exhibition “ULUS New Members 2022 “Was selected by the Art Council on the basis of insights into the professional works of artists that were submitted when applying for the competition.
is a real multimedia spectacle on two levels of the large ULUS space – on the ground floor and on the first floor, where talented artists presented their works in various forms, materials, thematic frames, and most are extremely attractive and authentic.

The exhibition also features an unusual performance for the camera “Hunting” (2018) by Ivana Ranisavljević lasting three hours, but also very imaginative projects – audio visual work “Digital Wood” (2015) by Vanja Perović or an interesting video installation “Arcadia” by Isidora Krstić, which shows the waves on the seafront in the town of Set on the south coast of France.
All the three works seem incredibly calming, which is the case and with the video “Believe in Beauty” (2022) by Igor Simić, where the church of Santa Maria della Salute was filmed during the author’s stay at the Venice Biennale in 2019
The whole spectacle of the exhibition “New Members 2022” are in a variety of genres, dimensions, themes that young talents cover, and visual beauty is made up of perhaps the largest images of large formats with bright colors and video projects, installations and performances.
Thus the audience is intrigued installation “Everything is under control” (2015) by Marko Tirnanić, located in a separate part on the floor.
Interesting is the project “Hard Bash” (2011) by Jovana Sudimac, which as a two-channel video shows a special kind of dance young people on the streets and parks of Belgrade, whose meetings are scheduled through social networks.
At the very entrance to the ULUS building there is an ambient installation “Gaziste” (2012) by Sasa Petrovic, in the form of a pile of bread and pastries scattered on the floor with quicklime on them.
It is difficult to single out other works n and exhibitions where the technique of oil on canvas or acrylic on canvas predominates, with the emphasis on “Field of Love no. 8 “(2021) by Jelena Paunković,” Butterfly “and” Fluo Butterfly “by Nevena Ostojić,” Untitled “(2021) by Mateja Milošević,” Terrible Court “(2019) by Teodora Pavković, impressive two paintings” Together Alone “and” Triptych ” Nedžime Zukorlić.

Association of Fine Artists Serbia (ULUS) is the oldest art association in the region, which on November 15, 2021 marked 103 years of existence and membership is considered one of the most important steps in professional artistic development.
