Fast X Director Teases the Return of Paul Walker’s Brian

Fast X director Louis Leterrier has addressed whether Paul Walker will be making an appearance in the latest sequel.

The upcoming blockbuster will take fans back to the events of 2011’s Fast Fiveand will feature previous footage of Paul in the franchise.

However, some fans have been wondering whether the late actor, who died in 2013, will be back for new scenes using the same digital technology used for his send-off in Furious 7.

Leterrier has opened up about the possibility, but insisted that Paul won’t be brought back until “the right moment”.

“Well, Brian is very much alive in the world of Fast & Furious, and they’ve teased him a lot in the previous movies,” he told Total Film (via GamesRadar). “In 9, we see the car coming.

“It’s something that is planned. This movie jumps back and forth between the past and the present. You will see Brian in the past, you won’t see Brian in the present. It’s something that everybody has to be on board with.

“The Walker family is still very much a part of this franchise, you’ll see how in this movie. It just has to be the right moment, the right tone.

“I think what James Wan did at the end of 7 was perfect,” he added. “The tone was perfect. Brian has to re-enter the franchise as perfectly as he left it.”

Meanwhile, the movie marks the beginning of the end of The Fast Saga.

In 2020, it was confirmed that the long-running franchise will be brought to an end with a two part finale, split into two films–Fast X and Fast 11 (or Fast X Part Two, however they style it)

On why the series is getting a two-part finale, Vin Diesel stated it’s because “there’s so much ground to cover”adding: “There’s so many places and so many locations in the world that we have to visit.”
