Next year has been proclaimed as “the year of female chess players” by the International Chess Federation. Then they took the opportunity to sign a giant sponsorship agreement – with a breast augmentation company.
The huge sponsorship agreement between the international chess federation Fide and the breast augmentation company has aroused strong feelings among female players, writes The Guardian.
The agreement is the largest to date for the union, but in a sport that has previously had difficulty attracting women, it arouses criticism. On the chess site Lichess, it is frequently discussed and called both “sexist” and “disgusting.”
