A year later she traveled to England, awarded a scholarship by the British Council to continue research on zooplankton at the Plymouth Laboratory, where she specialized in the study of various marine animals such as jellyfish, siphonophores and ctenophores. During 1954 he was part of some oceanographic campaigns on ships, as well as expeditions and scientific cruises in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, on ships from different countries, including the United States, England and Mexico. These voyages on ships made her the first female scientist on a UK research ship.
In 1955 he returned to the IEO laboratory in Vigo, to continue his studies on plankton and on the design of networks to filter it in marine expeditions and the fishing fleet. During 1951 and 1957, his first publications were produced in the IEO bulletins, on his Zooplankton studies that occurred in the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Newfoundland peninsular littoral
In 1958 she got a Fulbright Fellowship to do research at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts and then began working at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography in La Jolla, California, recommended by Mary Sears, president of the First Oceanographic Congress of the United States.
