Highway workers whipped documents by the inspector. They have shed light on their hundreds of millions of contracts over the past three years. Under many bosses, a chair is probably already shaking. Suspects of machinations will also be investigated by the police.

The Supreme Audit Office monitored every penny for hundreds of millions of orders. They wanted to know to whom and how much they paid, for example, for consulting, security or cleaning services. The result of the inspection, only in the section D3 Svrčinovec -Skalité, the inspectors quantified ineligible expenditures at more than 43 million euros

Another surprise awaited the inspectors. The archival documents they requested either disappeared or were bleached. This is one of the reasons why they handed over the case to the police

They were used by external companies in their public procurement processes, although they did not even have the consent of the Board of Directors. Irregularities were also found in the Žilina section of the D1 and they climb to the amount of 80 million euros. The Transport Research Institute says that such procurement failures will ultimately be felt by drivers. Highway workers want to respond to the inspectors’ result on Monday. The Ministry of Transport says that it is fully cooperating in all the revelations and only recently changed the leadership of the NDS. still under the previous government. Those who failed, however, may still be there to this day, and in addition to the police, the Ministry of Transport must also act.
