Rescue teams undertook to remove and return to the sea, two whales that were “stuck” on the beach of Lucilla del Mar, 360 km south of Buenos Aires in Argentina.
The video shows one of the whales, a male 8.5 meters long and weighing about seven tons, which tries to lift a crane from the sand with the help of several different rescue teams, including volunteer firefighters, lifeguards, Civil Defense personnel and members of the Office of Sustainable Development and the Environment.
Several intricate maneuvers were needed before successfully helping the largest whale safely in the water.
Local reports indicate that the neighbors of the seaside resort town have warned the Marine World Foundation about the unusual incident.
