In One Chart: Here are the Republicans running for president — or seen as potential 2024 candidates

The contest to become the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nominee is heating up, with Nikki Haley, a former U.S. ambassador to the UN, and long-shot candidate Vivek Ramaswamy each announcing their runs last month.

Another notable move is the rollout of a book by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantisin which he argues that his approach to managing his state can provide a model for the rest of the country.

And former President Donald Trump is slated to speak Saturday at the annual Conservative Political Action Conferenceafter announcing back in November that he’s running again. His remarks are due to come after Haley and Ramaswamy give their CPAC speeches on Friday.

So who are all the GOP politicians in the mix for 2024?

Below is MarketWatch’s list of the potential Republican presidential contenders and the status of their candidacies.

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden appears poised to announce in March or April thathe’ll run for president againin 2024. Democrats seem to be closing ranks behind Biden, although author and activist Marianne Williamson said she’s seeking the party’s nomination again.
