The International Press Centre (IPC), has again called for a thorough investigation on the recent attack on a media organization, Thunder Blowers and Mansur Rabiu, who works as an editor of the news medium in Gusau, Zamfara State.
Eight men were alleged to have been involved in the attack that took place early this month in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State.
The said attack, as gathered by DAILY POST, led to the infliction of various degrees of injuries on the editor who narrowly escaped being killed.
Piqued by the development, Executive Director of IPC, Lanre Arogundade , in a press statement made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday, said that the incident was “unfortunate”, adding that attacks on journalists would not be “acceptable even as we begin a new year.”
He stressed that “those who were involved in this attack should be found and made to face the law”.
He demanded “a thorough investigation of this attack and many other unresolved attacks on journalists.”
Aside his call for thorough investigation, he said the journalists who were affected should be compensated and their damaged equipments replaced.
