Issa Rae Is Hosting This Stylish Airbnb Rental For $56 a Night

It may sound too good to be true, but trust us, it’s real: Issa Rae is hosting her first Airbnb in South Los Angeles for just $56 a night. (And no, it’s not a contest.) The experience is inspired by Rae’s “Insecure” character, and if you’re a fan of the show, you might even recognize the neighborhood. Located in View Park, the midcentury-styled home is decked out with everything you could imagine: an in-ground pool surrounded by chaise lounges and canopies, a gorgeous yard with a breath-taking view of LA, and gallery walls of incredible artwork by local Black artists, including Maya Iman, Vakseen, and Domonique Brown. I’ll ask what we’re all thinking: what can’t Rae do?

“Since my series debuted in 2016, it’s been an honor to showcase the people, culture and businesses that make South LA such a vibrant part of the city,” Rae said in a press release shared with POPSUGAR. “I became an Airbnb Host to create a stay where fans of the show can experience this for themselves. From dinner by Worldwide Tacos on game day, to art from my favorite local artists on the walls — this is LA, my way.”

In light of the financial effects that hosting platforms like Airbnb can have on communities, Rae’s partnership with Airbnb includes a $500,000 donation, in collaboration with Nasdaq, to various organizations aiming to help underrepresented communities build wealth, including LeadersUp, the Central Neighborhood Health Foundation, and the Brotherhood Crusade.

When and How to Book Issa Rae’s South Los Angeles Home on Airbnb

Issa Rae’s lavish South LA home will be available to rent on Airbnb from Feb. 12-14, and it can be yours for a one-night stay. Upon arrival, Rae will virtually greet you and a guest with a quick chat and some one-on-one talk; she may even mention her personal guidebook, which includes all of her favorite restaurants and businesses in the area. It’ll be Super Bowl weekend, but don’t worry about missing the game: you’ll get to celebrate in style with a catered “Game Day” dinner for two, courtesy of Worldwide Tacos. You can check out Rae’s favorite spots in Baldwin Hills, Inglewood, and more before winding down with a glass of wine by the pool at night. And because she’s thought of everything, the stay also includes a full-on pamper kit by Sienna Naturals, which you’ll get to take home after your epic trip.

Set your alarms and get your typing fingers ready, because bookings for this Airbnb open at 10 a.m. PT on Tuesday, Feb. 8. Ahead, peep the photos of Rae’s gorgeous Airbnb.
