“Killing Eve,” “Free Guy” and “The Last Duel” actress Jodie Comer has exited Ridley Scott’s upcoming Napoleon Bonaparte biopic “Kitbag” at Apple Studios.
Comer was to have played Josephine opposite Joaquin Phoenix’s Bonaparte in a story following not just his rise on the battlefield and in politics but on the love story between the two.
Comer tells THR her exit is due to a scheduling conflict that has come up in the wake of some recent schedule changes for the production, and was reportedly unhappy she had to leave the film.
Shortly after this news broke, Deadline reported that “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” and “Hobbs and Shaw” actress Vanessa Kirby will take over Comer’s role in the project.
Shooting on “Kitbag” is scheduled to begin this Spring in Europe from a script by David Scarpa (“All the Money in the World”).
