The Lisbon stock exchange closed on positive ground for the second consecutive session at the start of 2022. Thus, the PSI-20 advanced 0.58% to 5,670.45 points, with nine quoted ending the day in positive territory and ten falling.
Galp Energia stood out in the rises, with the shares of the company led by Andy Brown up 5.13% to 9,178 euros, a maximum of two months. The company was included in the list of possible winners for 2022 by Bernstein, which classified the Portuguese company as an “outperform”. The investment bank pointed out as “an attractive investment opportunity” several European listed companies in the energy sector, such as BP, Shell or Repsol, also classified as “outperform”. According to Oswald Clint’s analysis, in a note quoted by Bloomberg, the “financial, operational and ESG impetus” of these companies was highlighted.
The session was also positive for BCP, which saw the securities increase by 2.68% to 0.1493 euros. The company’s shares rose by almost 3% throughout the session, even on a day when BCP shares were subject to a downward revision of the target price by the financial institution Autonomous Research LLP (which belongs to the AllianceBernstein group).
Jerónimo Martins was also in the spotlight, with securities up 1.79% to 20.52 euros per share.
The heavyweights of the EDP group ended the session in the red. EDP Renováveis recorded the biggest drop this Tuesday, with securities yielding 2.45% to 21.48 euros, while the parent company narrowly closed in the red: EDP yielded 0.02%, with bonds at quote at 4,879 euros.
On a day when more than half of the listed companies closed in the red, Ibersol lost 1.13% (5.26 euros), Corticeira Amorim fell 0.89% (11.10 euros) and CTT lost 0.65% (4.62 euros). In telecommunications, Nos fell 0.63%, closing the day at 3.44 euros.
Among the gains, note also for Pharol, which increased by 3.78% (0.0796 euros) and for Mota-Engil, which recorded gains of 1.85% (1.319 euros) . Navigator advanced 0.95% to 3,398 euros, Greenvolt appreciated 0.77% (6.52 euros) and Ramada advanced 0.56% (7.2 euros).
