Marks and Spencer bring back the Love Sausage for Valentine’s Day – and it’s just £6

Valentine’s Day may be known for fancy meals in restaurants, bouquets of red roses and small boxes of stunning jewellery but Marks & Spencer is changing that narrative by putting its own stamp on February 14.

Making things a bit more quirky this year, the supermarket has brought back its Love Sausage just in time for Valentine’s.

Costing £6 for a 460g portion, the savoury treat – which is perfect for a romantic breakfast in bed – will be available to buy nationwide from February 9.

Food fans can either head to Marks & Spencer shops or they can order the heart- shaped sausage in advance from Ocado.

Its product description describes the two portion serving as: “Heart shaped pork sausages flavoured with a hint of truffle all wrapped in smoked streaky bacon. It’s delicious cooked alongside eggs for the perfect Valentine’s breakfast.”

After going viral when it was first released in 2019, fans have been keen to see the meat feast in shopping aisles once again.

Under a post shared to the Snack Reviews Facebook page, shoppers were quick to share their amusement.

Commenting on the post, one user wrote: “What’s more romantic than a chunky sausage wrapped in bacon in the shape of a heart”.

Another added: “this would be the best valentines gift ever xx”.

Elsewhere Marks & Spencer have released a series of other new food favourites this February, helping couples plan their Valentine’s Day meals way in advance.

Other items include a ‘Pie Love You’ chicken pie which is a British chicken pie in a creamy white wine sauce and enveloped in an all butter pastry with a romantic message placed on top.

Another pastry item, fans of M&S can pick up a ‘I (Heart) You Pork Pie’ which is a traditional pork pie handcrafted using British pork, jelly and pastry. Again, it is topped with a love note.

There is also a ‘D’eclair My Love Eclair’, which is filled with a gorgeous whipped cream as well as a juicy raspberry crème pâtissiere.

Besides the pun-infused releases, Marks & Spencer announced that its M&S Valentine’s Dine In for £20 will be back between February 9 and February 14.

For £20, shoppers can pick up a starter, main, side, dessert and a bottle of drink or box of chocolates.
