Meghan Markle is “well-suited” to launch her very own talk show that would give Oprah Winfrey a run for her money, according to a royal expert.
Royal expert and author Christopher Andersen said he’ll be “surprised” if the Duchess of Sussex doesn’t venture out into the talk show world, and claims she’s got the potential to make a “powerful and influential” play at it.
“If Meghan doesn’t end up hosting a daytime syndicated talk show, I’ll be surprised,” Andersen said, according to Marie Claire.
“She certainly seems well-suited to that role in particular, and I can easily see her pursuing a career path similar to Oprah’s in the media: a show, a magazine, producing, directing — the works.”
Andersen said that the mom of two, 42, “still has a sizable chunk of the viewing public in her corner,” which could make the idea of a talk show very feasible.
“Once all the controversy surrounding the Sussexes’ ongoing feud with the rest of the royal family dies down, assuming it ever does, I could easily see her launching a successful talk show,” he went on.
“Meghan has always had her fingers in a lot of pies, and she has a knack for getting what she wants.”
The royal expert said that if the “Suits” alum wants a mogul status, “becoming the next Oprah — a powerful and influential media mogul — does not feel far-fetched at all.”
Markle famously sat down with her husband, Prince Harry, for a tell-all interview with Winfrey in March 2021.
In April this year, the exiled royal signed with WME CEO Ari Emanuel and his team, and has since been rumored to be in talks for an acting comeback.
Her team on a day-to-day basis will be Serena Williams’ agent Jill Smoller and Brad Slater, a behemoth in the movie business who also reps Dwayne Johnson.
WME represents the top talent across the industry including writers, filmmakers, actors, producers, stylists, fashion designers and their agents.
The company also handles brand licensing, speaking engagements, media production and events, including New York Fashion Week.
Markle this week teased her return to Hollywood, though this time as a producer.
She subtly hinted at the content fans can expect from her and Harry’s production company, Archewell Productions, in the future.
“[I want to make] things that make people feel — I was going say ‘good,’ but it’s more than that, things that make people feel something, right? And feel a sense of community,” she explained.
“But we have so many exciting things on the slate. I can’t wait until we can announce them, but I’m just really proud of what we’re creating. My husband is loving it, too. It’s really fun,” Markle added.
The Sussexes have so far debuted three projects under their lucrative Netflix deal so far.
The pair first released their bombshell six-part documentary “Harry & Meghan” in 2022, followed by “Live to Lead,” and most recently, “Heart of Invictus.”
