Mumbai cruise drugs bust case Updates: The Mumbai court on Monday granted Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) custody of Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Seth Merchantt, and Munmun Dhamecha till October 7 in the cruise drugs bust case. Meanwhile, the NCB made a ninth and tenth arrest in the case. Shreyas Nair, whose name allegedly came up during the interrogation of Aryan Khan and Arbaaz Seth Merchantt, was the ninth person to be arrested. It also intercepted a peddler who supplied drugs to 25 people on the cruise. As per the latest update, the NCB suspects that drugs recovered during the raid on the cruise ship might have been bought using cryptocurrency.

4 more arrests by NCB, accused linked to event organiser

The NCB has made four more arrests in the Mumbai cruise drugs bust case. The accused are reportedly linked to the event organiser, Namas’cray Experience Private Limited. All four accused hail from New Delhi. The arrested accused include additional directors of Namas’cray- Sameer Sehgal and Gopalji Anand.

So far,16 people, including Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, have been arrested in the case.

NCB files for in-camera hearing of accused Abdul Qadir

The NCB has filed an application for in-camera hearing of accused Abdul Qadir. Apoorv Shrivastav, appearing for Abdul Qadir, has no objection to in-camera hearing.

‘In-camera’ proceedings are carried out in private, with the public and the press excluded from such proceeding for the purpose of sensitivity. The proceedings are carried out through video conferencing in order to safeguard the privacy and protection of the accused.

NCB to produce 4 accused before magistrate’s court today

The NCB will produce Abdul Qadir Abdul Qayyum Sheikh, Shreyas Surendra Nair, Manish Udayaraj Darya, and Avin Dinanath Sahu before a magistrate’s court today. The accused have been brought to Killa court and are waiting for the proceedings to begin.

Four new arrests by NCB officials, total 12 accused arrested in Mumbai cruise drugs bust case

The following four people were arrested on Tuesday and taken to JJ Hospital for medical treatment at 12.34 pm. They were brought back to NCB office at 13.46 pm after receiving medical treatment.

1) Abdul Qadir Abdul Qayyum Sheikh: 30 years
2) Shreyas Surendra Nair: 23 years
3) Manish Udayaraj Darya: 26 years
4) Avin Dinanath Sahu: 30 years

So far, total 12 people, including Aryan Khan, have been arrested in the case.

Mumbai police to record statements of ship owner, party organisers

Mumbai Police scanned the CCTV footage and other videos available from the cruise ship and found that the Covid-19 protocols were violated. It will now record statements of the sip owner and party organizers in the cruise drugs bust case.

“In the videos, it is clear that no social distancing was followed and no mask was worn by maximum people on board. Mumbai Police is likely to file a case under section 188 of IPC and section 144 IPC,” officials said. (Inputs from Saurabh Vaktania)

Mumbai Police begins investigation in cruise ship case

Mumbai Police has begun its investigation in the Mumbai cruise drugs bust case. However, the officials said that no permission was taken from Mumbai Police for holding the party on the cruise.

“No written letter given to Mumbai Police or no intimation given about the party on the cruise. Mumbai Police will speak to DG Shipping and MBPT about what permission was given to the ship,” officials said.

Aryan Khan in NCB custody for 72 hours, questioning on

Aryan Khan has been in the custody of NCB for about 72 hours. Now, after getting custody remand for 3 days again, Aryan Khan is being questioned by NCB officials, during which he and Arbaaz Merchantt were also confronted face to face. Aryan Khan is kept on the second floor of the NCB office in Ballard Estate.

If NCB sources are to be believed, Aryan Khan is being given to eat food cooked by NCB’s mess. However, he has been provided with clothes sent from home.

Second summon to ship’s CEO, NCB interrogation on

The NCB has sent summon to the CEO of the cruise ship and will again be questioned by officials in connection with the seizure of banned drugs onboard a ship near the Mumbai coast.

The NCB has asked for the manifesto of the ship from the officials for October 2 when the raid took place. The manifesto includes complete details of every person coming on the ship, room number, details of their I-card, mobile number and other information.

Mumbai court grants NCB custody of Aryan Khan, others till Oct 7

A court in Mumbai has granted NCB custody of Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Seth Merchantt, and Munmun Dhamecha till October 7. Khan’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde had sought bail for him but the court decided to rule in favour of the drug enforcement agency. However, the Investigating Officer (IO) said that no illegal drugs were recovered from Aryan Khan during the raid on the cruise liner. During the hearing, NCB officials cited “picture messages” retrieved from Aryan Khan’s phone showing that he was allegedly in touch with an “international drug syndicate“.

What has happened so far?

On October 2, the NCB busted a rave party on board a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast following which eight people were apprehended, including Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan and his friend Arbaaz Merchantt, as well as Munmun Dhamecha.

The NCB recorded statements of all eight persons under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act).

Aryan Khan and two others were arrested on Sunday afternoon for involvement in the consumption, selling and purchasing of contraband.

Shreyas Nair, whose name allegedly came up during the interrogation of Aryan Khan and Arbaaz Seth Merchantt, was arrested on Monday (October 4). The tenth accused arrested was from Jogeshwari and the NCB seized Rs 5 lakh of drugs from his possession.

NCB makes 11th arrest in Mumbai cruise drugs case

The NCB has arrested one more person, belonging to Orissa, in the Mumbai cruise drugs bust case. It is the 11th arrest made in the case. Drugs have also been recovered in small quantities. The NCB has also detained 4 organizers and their statements are being recorded. They are likely to be arrested by noon. (With inputs from Arvind Ojha)
