Just a little over a week ago, Megan Thee Stallion gave us a rare look at what she looks like with short hair. Apparently, the bouncy, voluminous bob that she sported has seemed to have grown on her, but she gave the short style a rather bright update. Instead of the jet-black hue that she wore the first time around, the Hot Girl Coach opted for an icy shade of blonde that’s almost white, or what stylists are calling “Playboy blonde.” She took to Instagram to show off the new look in a 10-part photo carousel on April 1.
At first glance, the rapper’s whole head appears to be bleach blonde, but she literally stuck to her roots by keeping them jet-black. This contrast in colors is surely a nod to the shadow roots trend that was everywhere throughout the fall of 2021. The name of this technique pretty much speaks for itself: The roots take on a different, darker color than the rest of the hair.
Although the hair color update is obviously the main event here, what even is a Megan Thee Stallion glam update without a nail check? The rapper gave us eight—yes, we’re counting—up-close-and-personal shots of her manicure. Her long, lipstick-shaped nails appear to be painted in a creamy shade of beige—and if you caught on to the fact that she wore this set to the 2022 Oscars, you’re right on point.
As you might have guessed, Meg’s icy blonde short hair was the Hot Girl Coach just up to her old wig-experimentation tricks again, given that she attended April 3rd’s Grammy Awards wearing her signature long, jet-black hair. Even though the blonde bob lasted for only a New York minute, this bright hair update came just in time for those of us in need of blonde hair inspiration ahead of summer.
