‘Raheem Sterling should be going for the Ballon d’Or’, says Liverpool fan, who would welcome Anfield return for Man City star

A Liverpool fan has sensationally claimed he would welcome Raheem Sterling back to Anfield, adding that the Manchester City starlet ‘should be going for the Ballon d’Or.’

Sterling enjoyed a fine evening as he netted a hat-trick in City’s 4-0 thrashing of Norwich.

He’s been a key player in City’s success since joining them in the summer of 2015, winning eight major trophies including three Premier League titles.

His departure from Liverpool left a sour taste in the mouths of many supporters but not in Reds fan Nas, who waxed lyrical about the City and England star on GameDay: Your Verdict.

“Honestly, I think he should be going for the Ballon d’Or,” Nas said. “After taking England through to the Euros final and everything he’s done in his career…

“What he’s done in his career is amazing. The way he’s matured, everything about him is total class, I can’t rate him highly enough.”

And when asked by Darren Ambrose if he’d take Sterling back at Liverpool, Nas emphatically said: “I’d take him in the blink of an eye, honestly.”

One person who certainly wouldn’t welcome Sterling going back to Merseyside is City boss Pep Guardiola, who was full of praise for his player’s performance at Carrow Road.

Guardiola told talkSPORT: “He scored a brilliant first goal, the second one he was there. For the strikers scoring goals is important.

“He’s a player with special quality, he always creates something… he creates many good things and especially with the first goal, he was brilliant.”
