Sachin Tendulkar will turn 50 next year in April, but it seemed like the aging hasn’t had any sort of detrimental effect on his hand-eye coordination. Neither he has lost the agility and nimble foot movement, as he showed in the match against England Legends.
Tendulkar smashed three fours and as many sixes en route to his 20-ball 40 that helped India Legends reach 170/5 in a rain-affected clash. In reply, England could only manage 130/6.
Tendulkar got off the mark with a single and soon went down on his knee to guide the ball to a deep fine leg for the first boundary. In the next over, he smashed two sixes and a four against the fast bowler Chris Tremlett.
It was the second six against Tremlett that broke the internet, reminding the fans of his iconic campaign in the 1998 Sharjah Cup. Tendulkar stepped down the ground and lofted the ball over long-on – a shot he loved playing in his heydays.
Two days ago, Sachin played pull short against the Kiwi pacer Shane Bond, and followed up with his trademark straight drive on the backfoot. The fans couldn’t contain the excitement after watching some of his shots, and many even asked for his inclusion in the T20I World Cup squad as the backup opener.

Tendulkar was dismissed after he gave an easy return catch to Chris Schofield. Yuvraj Singh and Yusuf Pathan also entertained the crowd with their entertaining knocks. Yuvraj smashed three sixes and a four for his 15-ball 31, while Yusuf made 27 off 11. For England, Stephen Parry took three wickets.
