The Samsung Galaxy M52 has been launched in India as the latest mid-range phone from the brand. The Galaxy M52 will be the successor to the popular Samsung Galaxy M51 device from 2020 will be unveiled in India on September 28 一 near to the Amazon Great India Festival sale

The Samsung Galaxy M series has been Samsung’s top-performing device over the past couple of years be it in the budget segment with the M11, M21 series or in the mid-range with the Galaxy M31 and M51 series.

The device was launched first in Europe (Germany) ahead of India’s launch on September 28. In India, the device will be sold on Amazon and the device comes with the same set of specs as the global variant. But, in India, the device is available with 8GB RAM which is limited to 6GB in Europe for now. 

The Samsung Galaxy M51, even after a year of launch, is still the device to beat in terms of battery life. With the Galaxy M52, however, Samsung has taken a step backward to make the phone slim and light. Also, there are improvements in terms of connectivity, processing, and refresh rate.

The Samsung Galaxy M52 5G comes in two configurations in India 一 6GB 128GB priced at Rs 26,999 and 8GB 128GB at Rs 28,999. After the initial sale period, the Galaxy M52 5G will cost Rs 29,999 for 6GB 128GB and Rs 31,999 for 8GB 128GB variant.

The device is available in Blazing Black and Icy Blue color options. The first sale is scheduled on October 3 一 during the Amazon Great Indian Festival sale

The Samsung Galaxy M52 is a 5G device powered by Snapdragon 778G chipset clocked at 2.4GHz. The Galaxy M51 was one of Samsung’s first phones to offer a Snapdragon processor which also boosted the performance of the device. 

The Snapdragon 778G is an eight-core chipset with one Kryo 670 prime core clocked at 2.4GHz, three Cortex A78 cores at 2.2GHz and four Cortex A55 cores clocked at 1.9GHz. There is an Adreno 642L GPU for handling graphics and gaming. The chipset also supports multiple 5G bands. In terms of RAM and storage, the device is expected to feature up to 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. However, in India, we can also expect 8GB variant. It also comes with up to 4GB of Virtual RAM (RAM Plus).

In the visual department, the Galaxy M52 comes with a 6.7-inch Full HD display along with a 120Hz AMOLED Plus screen 一 a jump from the 60Hz AMOLED panel on the Galaxy M51.  In terms of design, the phone comes with vertical stripes on the back – something similar to what we’ve seen on the Galaxy F62.

Further, in terms of optics, the device comes with three cameras on the back instead of four cameras from the Galaxy M51. The device features a 64MP(f/1.8) main camera, a 12MP(f/2.2) ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP(f/2.4) macro shooter. There is also a 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The device can shoot up to 4K videos, and up to 240fps slow-mo videos. 

In terms of battery, Samsung has taken a step back and you get a 5,000mAh battery, unlike its predecessor which comes with a massive 7,000mAh battery. The phone supports 25W fast charging as well. 

Other features include Android 11 based on Samsung’s OneUI skin on top, Dolby Atmos support, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, single speaker, Type-C port, 173-gram weight, and 7.4mm thickness.
