Samsung is considering postponing the launch of the Galaxy S22 and introducing the Galaxy S21 FE in its place in January

After multiple leaks related to Samsung Galaxy S22, with renderings, layouts and details about cameras and batteries, today we also have negative news. It seems that Samsung would be ready to postpone the launch of the S22 , which will not take place in January, as expected.

Instead Samsung will offer us a Galaxy S21 FE 5G in the first month of 2022 and will move the debut of the Galaxy S22 later. Galaxy S21 FE 5G was a ghostly figure this year, dying and resurrecting several times a month in the realm of rumors. Theoretically it was supposed to come this fall, practically it is a victim of the component crisis. In the last week Samsung has removed all the mentions about this phone from its support page, but the Samsung UK website still mentions a mysterious gift when purchasing an S21 FE. In the Netherlands, 4 months of YouTube Premium are promised with this phone.

Galaxy S21 FE

Sammobile writes that Galaxy S22 could be postponed to catch the end of February 2022 and Mobile World Congress , returned to a full and unaffected variant of the pandemic, as it was in 2020, when it was not held, or in 2021, when it was hybrid: physically with few people and online. It seems that Samsung really wants to sell a Galaxy S21 FE 5G, especially since the S20 FE was a hit, so it’s understandable.

In the same time I found out recently that South Koreans will produce fewer S22 units, 20 million instead of 30 as the S21 series. We can also attribute this to the chip crisis, but also to a lower demand for the flagship, especially if it does not bring a technological leap too far compared to the S21 series.

There is talk of slightly smaller batteries and screens, but also about 3X optical zoom on the S22 and S22 + models, while the S22 Ultra does not seem ready to switch to the 200 MP camera and as far as we know no change is being prepared for telephoto camera, battery or screen.
