Robots, as we know them, are a relatively recent idea. The word only entered our lexicon in the early 20th century, with the first machine robot being built in the ’50s and robots popping up on screens throughout the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s. But even if the robots we typically interact with are somewhat different from R2-D2 (or even the SlothBotfor that matter), they can be incredibly helpful in our day-to-day lives.
Take, for instance, robot vacuums. They save us the time, effort, and fuss of having to pull out our clunky upright vacuums after a long day at work. In fact, they could easily have the floors—and all those tricky areas, like under the TV console and other hard-to-reach corners—nice and clean for us by the time we walk through the door. If you haven’t already invested in one (but like the sound of it), then you’re in luck, because Walmart has some of the best robot vacuums on sale.
Right now, you can get an iRobot Roomba 676 for over 30 percent off, making it under $175. It has a three-stage cleaning system that allows it to maneuver between hardwood and carpet, swiping up the obvious stuff and getting into the areas that a normal vacuum would have trouble with. Plus, it’s able to connect to Wi-Fi, so it can hook up to your Alexa or Google Assistant.

Also on sale is the Shark AI Ultra self-emptying vacuum. Rated as the best bagless self-emptying robot vacuum by our editors, this device has a HEPA-filtered canister that can hold up to two months’ worth of dirt and dust before needing to be emptied. And if you have a pet, this robot vacuum is particularly handy, because Shark claims it can clear a considerable amount of pet hair compared to its RV1100 AE model. Best of all, it’s marked down by nearly $100.

Of the three, the Ecovacs Deebot N8+ is the most expensive, but it’s also the best deal. For almost 56 percent off, you can pick up this robot vacuum on sale for under $300. Unlike the other two, the Deebot N8+ is both a vacuum and mop with a self-emptying station. Apart from this nifty dual functionality, you can also dictate what areas you want this device to clean (and, if any, which areas you want it to leave alone) via its interactive mapping function.
Depending on what you need your robot vacuum to accomplish, any of these would be a great investment toward making your home cleaner without any work having to come from you. Zero effort, zero crumbs in those hard-to-reach crevices. Win-win.
