After Sanju, Ranbir Kapoor fans have only been waiting to see the actor on the screen. While his much-anticipated project, Brahmastra, is only getting delayed for one reason or another, YRF treated his fans with the first of his upcoming film, Shamshera.

To mark the actor’s birthday yesterday (September 28), the makers of the dacoit drama shared a poster featuring Kapoor. While one was not able to see his entire face, his eyes were enough to make it look like an intense poster. The actor seems to have donned long hair in the film, and the poster has only stirred more excitement amongst the fans to see what the film will look like.

With this, the makers also announced that the film will be out on March 18, 2022. Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor in important roles. Kapoor will be playing a double role in the film and has shot for both the roles simultaneously. “The film revolves around a dacoit tribe that is fighting for its rights and independence from the British Raj. Apart from playing the protagonist, Ranbir might also be seen as the central character’s father. He has been shooting for both the roles simultaneously. This is the first time in his 12-year-long career so far that Ranbir will play a double role,” a source had earlier told Filmfare.
In this dacoit drama, Dutt will play the antagonist. “Shamshera is a ferocious and fearless character in the film. Therefore his nemesis, the villain had to be even more fierce and monumental in every aspect. Who better than Sanjay sir to give us that impact on screen?” Karan Malhotra, the director of the film, had earlier said in a statement. YRF described Shamshera as a desi high-octane masala film. An edge of the seat adventure, it is set in the heartland of India and will have jaw-dropping action sequences.
