Simak! 8 Fakta Ilmiah Terbaru Varian Omicron yang Ditemukan Para Ahli

COVID-19 varian omicron menyebar luas di Indonesia. Berdasarkan data yang dihimpun Kementerian Kesehatan (Kemenkes) hingga Kamis 27 Januari 2022, diketahui ada 1.988 kasus omicron yang tercatat di Tanah Air.

Belum lama ini para ahli memublikasikan beberapa fakta terbaru terkait varian omicron yang sedang gencar diatasi. Setidaknya ada delapan fakta penting mengenai jenis yang berasal dari Afrika Selatan ini.

Dirangkum dari unggahan akun Instagram resmi Komite Percepatan Covid-19 dan Pemulihan Ekonomi Nasional (KPCPEN) @lawancovid19_id, Sabtu (29/01/2022), berikut delapan fakta ilmiah terbaru mengenai varian omicron.

1. Omicron sebabkan kenaikan kasus yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan varian delta dikarenakan lebih mudah menular.

2. Masa inkubasi atau munculnya gejala sejak pertama kali terpapar virus cenderung lebih cepat dibanding varian lain.

3. Gejala pada varian omicron tidak spesifik, namun disinyalir lebih ringan.

4. Angka rawat inap di rumah sakit lebih rendah dibandingkan varian delta.

5. Dapat menular kepada orang yang pernah terinfeksi covid-19.

6. Masih dapat terdeteksi dengan RT-PCR maupun rapid antigen.

7. Vaksin berperan besar dalam mencegah keparahan gejala dan kematian, namun berkurang efektivitasnya.
