Support financing for women SMEs

Akbank announced that it has taken action with the EBRD and KGF to support women business owners and entrepreneurs and facilitate their access to finance.

According to the news of Hürriyet newspaper; Accordingly, within the scope of the Financing and Consultancy Support Program for Women’s Businesses, 50 million dollars will be provided with EBRD funding and 80 percent KGF guarantee support. SMEs, which are women, will have the opportunity of commercial loans with a grace period of up to 12 months, with affordable interest rates. Manufacturer-exporter female SMEs will be able to extend a loan of 12 million TL at a time, and a maximum of 12 million TL per customer, with a maximum of 6.2 million TL for other female SMEs at a time. SMEs benefiting from the loan will also be able to make money transfers free of charge for 1 year.

Arthur Poghosyan, EBRD Deputy Head of Financial Institutions in Turkey, said, “To date, 20,000 women in Turkey have benefited from loans, advisory services, mentoring and training opportunities within the scope of the EBRD’s flagship Financing and Advisory Support for Women’s Businesses (TurWIB). We want to see women entrepreneurs succeed and we will provide them with 600 million Euros of new financing through our partner banks.”

Credit Guarantee Fund (KGF) General Coordinator Özge Demir Kuzucu said, “We are aware of the importance of cash flow and access to finance, especially for women entrepreneurs, in terms of the sustainability of production and employment. With this awareness, we are trying to fulfill our part in the access of entrepreneurs, who are the dynamic power of our country, to finance.”
