FOXBOROUGH, Mass. Tom Brady has — yet again — etched himself atop the NFL record books. In the midst of the Buccaneers‘ Week 4 matchup with New England, the seven-time Super Bowl champion became the NFL’s all-time leading passer, leapfrogging former New Orleans Saints legend Drew Brees. Coming out of Week 3, Brady had 80,291 career passing yards, meaning he only needed 68 yards through the air to break Brees’ all-time mark.

He hit that mark on a 28-yard pass to Mike Evans with just over five minutes to play in the first quarter.

Unlike when Brees broke the record, there was no stoppage in play. Instead, there was just a quick graphic on the Gillette Stadium video board recognizing the accomplishment.

Of course, Brady broke this record in the place where he piled up a majority of those yards in Gillette Stadium. This is the first time that Brady has been back in Foxborough and facing his former Patriots team since leaving the organization for Tampa Bay as a free agent during the 2020 offseason.

This passing yards record adds to the long list of accomplishments that the 44-year-old has reached throughout his career. On top of this mark, Brady had already possessed the all-time wins record and all-time passing touchdowns mark. He also has thrown for most passing yards than any NFL quarterback in the playoffs.
