KYE is a child of the world.
Born in Zimbabwe but spending part of her childhood in the United States, she’s now part of the cultural fabric of London.
Currently based in Melbourne, each of these places – and more – left their mark on her artistry, forging an identity built around colour and expression.
Neo-soul linked to vintage R&B, there’s also something dynamic and future-facing about KYE, and the manner in which she approaches music.
New single ‘Tuesday’ is out now, and it’s a fantastic return, one that finds KYE linking with vocalist Jerome Farah.
The song lingers on her vintage influences, but KYE re-works these in her own style, finding a fresh path in the process.
KYE shares…
“‘Tuesday’ is about that person who leaves you a little lonely but you’re willing to wait however long it takes to win them over. They may not be ready to love you, and there’s a part of you that knows that, but you still jump through every hoop. This song came so naturally, Jerome and Jacob Farah, 18YOMAN, and myself were just jamming and it wrote itself. It has the really nostalgic springtime feel to it that I love”.
Tune in now.
