The Vintage Computing Festival Berlin (VCFB) is “hybrid” this year: In the Pergamon-Palais of the HU Berlin, 20 exhibitors present historical computers, art and practical software under the motto “Reboot” for retro hobbyists. You can listen to the lectures remotely in free lectures and live streams via wiki.vcfb.de/2021 or take part in workshops on the BigBlueButton system of the VCFB eV
The exhibition area includes the ZX Spectrum, an original TI-99 / 4A and all sorts of single-board computers from the 1970s. Carsten Strotmann presents the CollapseOS operating system, which works with minimal and improvised computers – ideal for the end of the world. It currently supports Z80 and 8086 processors, among others.
Those who are not on site can also visit the exhibition area virtually. In addition, other exhibitors are switched on leads about Axel Ehrich from Clausthal-Zellerfeld in an online tour through parts of his huge collection “Harzretro” from computers, consoles and accessories.
The presentations should be published on media.ccc.de afterwards. There you can find under media.ccc.de/c/vcfb20 Videos from the previous year – in 2020 the VCFB took place as a purely digital festival.
