The hospital in Silistra continues to be among the health facilities in Bulgaria where no covid zones have been discovered. Thus, home treatment patients cannot take advantage of the decision of the Ministry of Health to use the free medicines at the Health Insurance Fund.
About 90 people are being treated in the hospital in Silistra, and 10 of them are in intensive care.
We have a covid zone – the whole hospital is one big one. The question is why there is no covid zone in pre-hospital care. Maybe there is no desire and organization, commented Dr. Vasil Slavov, Executive Director of MHAT – Silistra.
He added that has proposed the establishment of a covident office in the pre-hospital care with a treatment protocol and instructions. According to him, this is the most important thing to limit the disease.
The shortage of staff in our country is critical, but this problem is from 10 years, it is not from yesterday, the director of the hospital is categorical. Unfortunately, the average age of the staff is about 60 years, he added.
We already have a mega covid zone – the whole hospital is one covid zone. We are talking about the fact that there should be a covid zone in the pre-hospital care, Dr. Vasil Slavov emphasized once again.
He is categorical that the prescription of drugs for covid patients has no connection with the hospital, but with the pre-hospital care.
The lack of a covid zone once again proves that units such as Emergency Aid are loaded, leading to an increased number of calls, which reflects as delays of the teams, says Dr. Encho Vassilev, head of the Emergency Service – Silistra.
He stressed that the calls have increased, and all in fact turn to the Emergency help.
