חברת אופקו, שבשליטת פיליפ פרוסט ושותפתה, חברת פייזר יפן, קיבלו את אישורו של משרד הבריאות היפני לשווק זריקה של הורמון הגדילה סומטרוגון (Somatrogon), שלו פעולה ארוכת טווח במינונים של 24 ו-60 מיליגרם. לאחר קבלת האישור, מניית אופקו עולה ב-4% במסחר בוול סטריט. 

הזריקה שפותחה על ידי שתי החברות תשווק תחת השם המסחרי NGENLA. מדובר בזריקה של הורמון גדילה שפותח בהנדסה גנטית, שניתנת אחת לשבוע לצורך טיפול במחסור בהורמון גדילה אצל ילדים. המוצר של אופקו ופייזר יספק לאלה שסובלים ממחסור בהורמון גדילה אופציה טיפולית נוספת, שתקטין את תדירות ההזרקות בהשוואה לג’נוטרופין (Genotropin) – הורמון גדילה שפותח על ידי…
