เวลา 08.00 น. วันที่ 26 ม.ค. 65 นางบุษบา บุญญลักษม์ นายกเหล่ากาชาดจังหวัดเชียงราย ร่วมพิธีสักการะพระบรมอัฐิพ่อขุนเม็งรายมหาราช ณ วัดดอยงำเมือง โดยมีการประกอบพิธีห่มผ้าและสรงน้ำพระสถูป
จากนั้น เวลา 9.00 น. ร่วมพิธีบวงสรวง และทำบุญเมืองเชียงราย ณ พระบรมราชานุสาวรีย์พ่อขุนเม็งรายมหาราช โดยมีหัวหน้าส่วนราชการประจำจังหวัดเชียงราย นายอำเภอทั้ง 18 อำเภอ พร้อมด้วย นายกกิ่งกาชาด ร่วมพิธีไหว้สาพญามังราย พร้อมถวายเครื่องราชสักการะ ประกอบด้วย พานพุ่มดอกไม้สด ต้นเทียน ต้นผึ้ง หมากสุ่ม หมากพลู และการแสดงศิลปวัฒนธรรมล้านนาอย่างงดงาม
ต่อจากนั้น ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดเชียงรายได้กล่าวคำสดุดีไหว้สาพญามังราย เบื้องหน้าพระบรมราชานุสาวรีย์พ่อขุนเม็งรายมหาราช เพื่อรำลึกในพระมหากรุณาธิคุณ และเฉลิมพระเกียรติพ่อขุนเม็งรายมหาราช ที่ทรงสร้างเมืองเชียงรายให้มีความเจริญรุ่งเรืองแผ่ไพศาล ตราบถึงปัจจุบันมาเป็นเวลายาวนานถึง 760 ปีมาแล้ว
