此外 DigiTimes 的供應鏈消息來源還透露，除處理器外，新MacBook Pro基本沒什麼變化，所使用的大多數其他部件的規格與採用M1處理器的現有機型幾乎相同，而這一說法也逐漸證實了最新的傳言。彭博社記者 Mark Gurman 最近表示，Apple的意圖是在2022年發布更新的配備 M2 處理器的入門級13吋 MacBook Pro，但這被普遍認為意味著該機將在今年晚些時候出現，不僅入門級 MacBook Pro 會升級 M2 處理器，24吋 iMac、入門級 Mac mini 和全新 MacBook Air 都會升級 M2 處理器，這些新款 Mac 將於今年發布。
值得一提的是，Apple 為了拉開和旗艦 MacBook Pro 的區別，Apple 將會在新品上移除一些功能，例如 ProMotion 高刷、Touch Bar，也不會採用 Mini-LED 屏幕。
