Pelo menos 152 pessoas morreram na cidade brasileira de Petrópolis na sequência das fortes chuvas e deslizamento de terras na terça-feira, de acordo com um novo balanço das autoridades.
O anterior balanço apontava para 146 vítimas mortais.
Já o registo de pessoas desaparecidas baixou de 191 para 165, na última atualização das autoridades.
A tempestade, que atingiu aquela cidade serrana do estado do Rio de Janeiro, causou quase um milhar de desalojados.
As operações de busca e salvamento envolvem mais de 500 bombeiros, mas os trabalhos são dificultados pelas más condições no terreno e pelo risco de mais deslizamentos de terra.
