2021 WWE Draft results: SmackDown and Raw rosters, rules, format, pools of superstars

The annual WWE draft begans on SmackDown on Friday, Oct. 1, giving the Raw and SmackDown rosters a chance to receive an injection of fresh faces for the coming year of action. The draft concludes on Monday, Oct. 4 with the remainder of the WWE roster available to be drafted by both brands. The talent pools were not announced prior to the event, but many big names, including SmackDown women’s champion Becky Lynch will be available heading into Night Two.

Some big names have already changed brands, including Raw women’s champion Charlotte Flair, who was drafted to SmackDown on Friday night. Many names from NXT have also been called up to the main roster after being drafted.

WWE has also issued pre-draft reminders that tag teams can be split in the draft, even if it makes no sense that a brand would choose a single superstar rather than two as part of a package deal. That happened on Night One, with Big E being split from New Day yet again and the team of Mace and T-Bar heading to separate brands.

The changes made during the draft will not go into effect until three weeks from the first night, beginning on Oct. 22.

We will update this post as the draft goes down, updating after each pick to give a look at the new-look rosters as they develop.

Now all that’s left is to break down the WWE Draft format and prepare for the actual selections. Keep on reading for a detailed look at the rules and results from the WWE Draft.

WWE Draft format, rules

  • Picks: Two picks for each brand per raw
  • Teams/groups/factions: Count as one pick, but teams can be split up
  • Free agents: All undrafted superstars can sign with either brand
  • No. 1 overall pick:  SmackDown (Roman Reigns)
