Nichinoken (Yokohama City), a major cram school, had unauthorized access to its homepage (HP) on the 29th. It was announced that up to 280,106 e-mail addresses may have been leaked to the outside. Although it does not include other personal information, it notified the target address by e-mail that it could be used for phishing scams.
According to Nichinoken, after receiving a consultation that an unsolicited e-mail had arrived, it was found that unauthorized access was received in early December 2021. I notified the government’s Personal Information Protection Commission and reported the damage to the Kanagawa Prefectural Police Kohoku Station.
Nichinoken is a long-established junior high school examination cram school with about 150 classrooms nationwide. He commented, “We will definitely implement safety management measures and make a company-wide effort to prevent recurrence.”
