O Sporting confirmou na ‘deadilne’ do último dia de mercado a contratação de Marcus Edwards para a equipa principal. O extremo assinou contrato até 2026 e ficou com uma cláusula de 60 milhões de euros.
Nas primeiras palavras de leão ao peito, o jogador inglês de 23 anos não escondeu a satisfação por ter assinado pelo Sporting. “Estou muito, muito feliz. É um grande dia para mim, para a minha família e para os meus amigos. Estou muito feliz por estar aqui. (…) É o maior clube em Portugal, pelo que isto é incrível para mim”, disse em declaração aos meios de comunicação leoninos.
O extremo teceu ainda rasgados à equipa e ao treinador: “tem um grande treinador, um bom sistema, uma boa equipa e bons jogadores. (…) Estou grato por ele acreditar tanto nas minhas qualidades. Todos sabem o bom treinador que ele é, pelo que estou entusiasmado por poder trabalhar e evoluir com ele”, referiu.
Para finalizar deixou ainda uma mensagem a todos os sportinguistas. “Estou muito entusiasmado por jogar para vocês. Mal posso esperar”, finalizar.
