När både svensk och utländsk bakgrund finns representerad bland ledamöterna i styrelsen är omsättningen i bolagen högre, enligt ny rapport.
”Att ta tillvara på all kompetens som står till förfogande borde vara en självklarhet för att kunna öka företagens möjlighet att växa. Nu visar dessutom våra undersökningar att företag som har mer jämlika och jämställda styrelser omsätter mer. Företag vinner helt enkelt på att ha personer med olika bakgrund och erfarenhet i styrelsen”, säger Anna Lundmark Lundbergh, vd Almi Värmland, i ett pressmeddelande.
Malin Malmström, professor vid Luleås tekniska universitet, har tagit fram rapporten på uppdrag av Almi och konstaterar att företag där styrelsen består av ledamöter med både svensk och utländsk bakgrund har högre omsättning.
Studien omfattar nästan 100 000 företag
Rapporten bygger på en databas med närmare 97 000 bolag, som omsätter minst fem miljoner och/eller har minst fem anställda.
Företagens ekonomiska utveckling har följts under en treårsperiod, 2016-2018.
En tidigare kartläggning har visat att endast 20 procent av företagen i databasen har minst en styrelseledamot med utländsk bakgrund.
Förra våren släppte Almi en rapport som undersökte den ekonomiska effekten av jämställdhet i bolagsstyrelser.
Den visade att ökad jämställdhet ledde till förbättrade ekonomiska resultat.
