Family dispute leads to assault, mischief charges

A family dispute in Markstay-Warren on Feb. 5 led to assault charges, said provincial police.

Officers responded to the call at 5:26 p.m. Police said one family member began threatening and assaulting other family members within the residence and used a kitchen utensil as a weapon, then damaged a vehicle when leaving the property.

The victims received minor injuries and did not require any medical attention.

As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old Sudbury man has been charged with assault, assault with a weapon, utter threats and mischief under $5,000.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 30.
